- Curriculum Vitae
The role of the Director of Field Education places Teri out in the Tampa Bay Community recruiting educational placement sites for social work interns and training agency professionals to serve as on-site Field Instructors. To ensure an educational and fulfilling experience it is critical to consider the academic and personal interests of the student. Consequently, a vital component of her position is the interviewing and placement of master’s level students in their field agencies
Having oversight of the field program for the school of social work involves preparing the field syllabi for the field seminar classes, the selection and training of field seminar adjunct instructors and continuing development of the web-based monitoring system that tracks the intern’s progression in the field. The management of field department and collaboration of community partners fits well with Teri’s interests and prior experience.
Teri earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, as well as her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of South Florida. Much of her clinical work has focused on working with adolescent girls and their families. For sixteen years Teri worked on the administrative and planning side of social service systems in program development, grant writing, evaluation, and consultation. As a social service provider she has maintained various contracts with the State of Florida (DJJ, DCF, FDLE etc.), the Federal Government (Dept. of Health and Human Services, Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention) various community funders, and partner organizations.
She is a member of six standing committees within the School of Social Work and one Ad Hoc Committees. She Chairs the Field Advisory Committee as well as the Field Faculty Committee. Teri serves on the Juvenile Justice Board for Circuit 13. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for BAYS Florida.
Originally from the Midwest, Teri has lived in Tampa for 25 years. She enjoys boating, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, biking and spending time with kids (grandchildren and her own Little Sisters in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program).
